Nakano Refrigerators Co. Ltd. is a renowned enterprise in Japan established in 1917. After becoming a joint-stock company in 1946, the company has been manufacturing "Refrigerator Showcases" and"Cold Storage Systems" for food retailers.

Up to the end of 2005, the total shares weae 456.62 million shares, including 29.67% of state-owned share, 15.99% of domestic legal shares, 5.33% of public shares and 47.15% B shares with total assets of 3.51 billion RMB.

The scope of the firm contains: research and develop freezing equipments and hardware, auto hardware, household electrical appliances and related materials, the produced products and investing, etc.

The main holding company is as follows: Shanghai Hitachi Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd. (75%), Shanghai Zanussi Elettromeccanica Co., Ltd. (35%), Hitachi Highly Automotive products (shanghai) Co., Ltd. (33.33%) and Shanghai Highly Nakano Refrigerators Co., Ltd. (43%).
With production ability of 12 million pieces per year, Shanghai Hitachi Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd. is the largest enterprise manufacturing and selling air-conditioner compressors in China.
